We will request records from your dentist. Your dentist will send over a referral card to us so we know what area or areas need to be evaluated and we work closely with your dentist to get all necessary information prior to the appointment.

We do not participate with any insurance networks in any way. You will need to file your claim with your primary insurance and ask that your insurance carrier reimburse you directly.

We do not accept Insurance as a form of payment. Payment in full is due at the time services are rendered. While dental insurance is certainly beneficial, as a general rule dental insurance plans usually only pay a small portion of periodontal procedures. We do not file secondary or medical insurance. Our practice will provide you with a treatment plan that explains all costs that may be incurred.

We do not file any insurance of any kind. We provide patients with the information needed for them to file their secondary insurance.

Your appointment is scheduled with our team to be seen clinically. When paperwork has not been completed prior to an appointment then this takes time out of the clinical evaluation which is critical. In some cases if paperwork is not completed prior to the appointment then we are unable to complete the clinical evaluation which results in patients having to return for more appointments.

Some insurance plans cover a percentage of periodontal treatment but since there are so many plans available now; unfortunately, it makes it impossible for us to quote coverage. The best recommendation is to speak to some one in the employee’s benefits department or look through the benefits booklet provided by the insurance carrier to find out the coverage offered for periodontal treatment.

Periodontal Disease is an infection of the gums which destroys bone that hold your teeth in place. Most patients have no idea they have Periodontal Disease until it is too late or their dentist tells them they have gum disease.

There is only one that can be submitted to your medical insurance but if you have dental insurance you may, by law, be required to submit the procedure to your dental insurance carrier first. The procedure is for a soft tissue biopsy. Check with your insurance providers before you file.

This way you get the best of both worlds. When you visit Chapel Hill Periodontics & Implants we emphasize on your gums and any areas that may be declining. When you see your general dentist their emphasis is on finding decay early and performing restorative treatment that needs to be completed.

This allows Chapel Hill Periodontics & Implants to evaluate your case and make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan based on your needs. It allows us to go over various treatment options and answer any questions. It also allows Chapel Hill Periodontics & Implants a chance to review your medical history to determine if there are any contraindications to treatment.

A visual examination does not tell us everything we need to know. Dental x-rays help us accurately diagnose and treat periodontal problems early before they become more serious. Once we do a clinical examination of your mouth and review your x-rays, we have the whole picture of what is taking place in your mouth. This allows us to develop a treatment plan to help with your condition.

For some patients yes. Some cases of Periodontal Disease are not as stable as others and; therefore, it is more prudent to be seen more frequently to try to avoid more invasive procedures later.
