Extraction

Simple Extraction: This requires the use of specialized instruments to further loosen the tooth and safely remove the tooth. Additional instruments are used to clean the extraction socket, to remove any infection and to ensure proper healing. A bone graft may be placed at the time of extraction to prepare the area for an implant or prevent further bone loss on teeth beside the extraction site.

Surgical Extraction: This type of extraction is normally required when the tooth fractured, has had a root canal or the root(s) of the tooth are very curved. Specialized drills are used cut the tooth in the pieces to allow for easy removal of the tooth and to help preserve the surrounding bone.
